We love...the il Tutto Bronze Tote

There is something so special about choosing your baby bag. You want the best, the most luxurious, and the most stylish baby bag, which will take you from coffee with the girls to a tropical family holiday in ease. When we first saw the il tutto Bronze Nico tote our jaws dropped. Honestly. We are possibly the most easily excited women in Australia when it comes to buying for our store. We will hold on to catalogues till they are worn and tattered in our bags. That's how much we love to shop. Since we first opened our doors we have loved supplying il tutto baby bags to the women of the Whitsundays, and the Bronze tote was just the creme de la creme of our baby bag display. It sits very proudly on our shelf. The Nico tote in Bronze features all the essentials that we look for in a baby bag: space, insulated bottle holders, matching change mat, adjustable shoulder strap, and a zip out interior...cleaning our bag just became a whole lot easier! The Nico Bronze is style with an edge, only 50 are available world wide and at an affordable price, it's too hard to resist! Luxurious Italian foiled nappa leather, and of course, the trademark il tutto monster teddy. It's our must have baby bag for 2011.

Oobi Winter Wonders

This season, Cherrie Baby is full of gorgeous treasures by Oobi, vintage florals, stripe vests, tweed hats, classic full skirts, pink tutu's...the trendy Oobi baby is styling up for a fun and colourful winter!

Cloth vs Disposable: What works for you?

When we compare cloth nappies to disposable’s, at first thought it may seem more than biased. Disposable nappies are convenient, simple to use, easy to find at the local supermarket, and best yet, they are disposable. No washing! Sigh of relief...

Cloth nappies vs disposables is a debate we at Cherrie Baby hear often. Many mums balk at the idea of using cloth nappies, understandable, as they are considered to be the messier and more time consuming option. In our fast paced lives, do we have the time for cloth nappies?

We consider cloth nappies to be all about the bigger picture; baby’s comfort, style and environmentally friendly. More and more modern day mothers are becoming conscious of the need for an eco-friendly alternative, and cloth nappies are great for not just the environment, but for your baby as well.

Cherrie Baby carries a range of cloth nappies called Pea Pods. They fast became one of our favourite products for mothers, and we have since promoted them as a safe alternative for nature and you. Available in 3 easy sizes, Small, Medium and Large, the Pea Pods have been perfect for the tropical Queensland climate. This could come down to the fact that they are made from the soft fabrics of micro fleece and bamboo.

Micro fleece is a highly breathable fabric, lightweight and comfortable. It’s machine washable and dries quickly, making it a convenient option for mums on the go. The pea pods also contain an inner lining made from bamboo.

A sustainable product, bamboo is one of the worlds fasted growing plants, and once cut it can regenerate quickly, with no need for replanting. Bamboo is soft, breathable, absorbent, hypoallergenic, eco friendly and has anti bacterial qualities.

Throw away your ideas of folding big cloth nappies and fitting them with safety pins, pea pods are a trim fit nappy with easy to fasten clips, and adjustable sizing. You don’t need pilchers or covers as the inner cover is coated with a breathable polyurethane creating a waterproof outer layer. Cloth nappies are sounding a little simpler now, aren’t they?

One of our best tips is to try mixing it up, which will mean you get the benefits of both disposable & cloth. Since you can dispose of disposables, make the most of it on your next day out shopping, and for those long night time sleeps, what could be better than a pea pod? Allowing your little one to sleep comfortably through the night (fingers crossed!) without a wet nappy.

Deciding which nappies are best for you and your baby is a case of trial and error. It’s finding a convenient and easy option for you to be able to comfortably change your baby.
